Yeah, this after reports of a former aide saying he repeatedly asked her to carry his child. At one point allegedly offering her millions of dollars to be a surrogate. ABC’s Gloria Riviera joins us now from Washington with more. Good morning, Gloria. Reporter: This morning, an early resignation shaking up congress. Arizona congressman Trent franks abruptly giving his notice one month sooner than expected. In a statement saying we came to the conclusion that the best thing for our family now would be for me to tender my previous resignation effective today December 8th, 2017. Franks originally stated his resignation would be effective January 2018 after receiving pressure from house speaker Paul Ryan who urged him to quit after learning of credible claims of misconduct. The Republican is accused of asking two members of his staff to bear his child. The associated press is reported one woman claims franks offered her $5 million to act as a surrogate. Franks speaking out saying I deeply regret that the topic of surrogacy was discussed in the office and that it caused distress. Known as a social conservative — It is a test of our basic humanity and who we are as a human family. Reporter: Franks now the third member of congress to resign just this week over allegations of sexual misconduct or harassment. This really is a watershed moment for our country. Reporter: Franks has denied the allegations against him, reports are at least one woman, a former staffer, claims franks offered her a written contract for review with a payment included and when she refused she says she was sidelined at the office.
